Update Corona measures November 28th 2021

29/11/2021

Dear SPR member,

After the press conference, here is a brief update.

We had hoped to continue practicing sports within the adjusted framework. Unfortunately, this is not the case and all our sports locations will be closed daily from 17.00 onwards, starting tomorrow, Sunday 28 November, until at least Sunday 19 December.

Sports program
This means no indoor or outdoor sports after 17:00.
In the upcoming days, the ACLO and the Sports Centre will try to find out if there are any possibilities for an adjusted schedule in order to accommodate clubs and individual athletes where possible.
We will therefore use the current schedule up to and including Tuesday night, 30 November. After Tuesday we will look at what is possible. All activities after 17:00 will be cancelled:
  • Individual reservations stop at 16.30 hrs.
  • Group lessons that start at 15.30 and 15.45 hrs can continue as usual, lessons that start at 16.00 hrs will be cancelled.

Sportsbar
The Sportsbar will also close at 17:00. In addition to the existing measures, the catering areas may only be used with a placement of 1.5 meters.

In the course of next week further information will follow about how to proceed after Wednesday December 1st.

Kind regards,
The 76th Executive Board of the ACLO and the Sports Centre

Update Corona measures as of November 13th 2021

Dear SPR member,

Last night, new stricter measures were announced by the government as of 6 p.m. tonight. The rules apply for at least three weeks until Saturday 4 December.

The following basic rules apply:
  • Wash your hands often and well.
  • Give each other as much space as possible; 1.5 meters where possible and also while playing sports where this is possible.
  • Stay at home with (mild) complaints and have yourself tested immediately by the GGD. Even if you have already been vaccinated.
  • If the test is positive: stay at home and avoid contact with others, even if they have been vaccinated.
  • Cough and sneeze into your elbow.
  • Provide sufficient fresh air and ventilation in indoor areas

Additional measures that apply to the Sportcentrum and the ACLO:
  • From 6 p.m. tonight, no public is allowed for sports, both indoors and outdoors.
  • The Sportsbar, located in the Sportcentrum closes at 8 p.m.
  • Clubhouses also need to be closed by 8 p.m., unless they are necessary to be used for sports, think of material storage and toilet use. Meetings or other types of gatherings are not allowed after 8 pm.
  • Because we have indoor sports buildings with mixed use of education and sports, the QR code must be checked when used by external parties. This means the QR-code applies on Wednesday and Friday evenings after 6 pm and on Saturdays and Sundays in the Sportcentrum and the WAS at Zernike.
  • Masks remain mandatory when moving through the buildings. The mask can be taken off ones seated. Mask obligation expires if the QR code check is used, this does not apply to the WAS, because education use is also possible there at those times.

We are happy that we can continue to keep our facilities open, but also understand that it will ask a lot of you in the coming weeks. On December 3, the situation will be reassessed by the government and we hope that it will be possible to scale up again!

Kind regards,

The 76th Executive Board of the ACLO & Management Sportcentrum

Additional Corona Measures

10/11/2021

Dear SPR member,

In this e-mail you receive an addition to the message that was sent yesterday. The sports facilities of the RUG and Hanzehogeschool are considered as a non-educational location for a part of the week. This means that from tonight, Wednesday 10 November, 18:00, on Fridays and on the weekends the QR-code scanning will be used. This means that the face mask rule is dropped at those times. So for the time being, the measure applies this week on Wednesday evening, Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday.

The possible new developments following the press conference on Friday 12 November will be included in the translation as of next week. Because of all the developments that follow each other in rapid succession, we understand that it requires a lot of flexibility from all of us.

Kind regards,
ACLO & Management Sportcentrum

Update corona measures

9/11/2021

Dear SPR sporter,

New measures have been communicated by the government on Wednesday. This email lists what it means for athletes and clubs:
Basic rules
The basic rules mentioned below still apply:
  • Wash your hands carefully and regularly.
  • Give others enough space. 1.5 meters remains a safe distance.
  • Stay at home if you have any symptoms, even if they are mild, and get tested immediately by the GGD. Even if you are already vaccinated.
  • After a positive test result, you have to stay at home and avoid contact with others, even if they are vaccinated.
  • Cough and sneeze into your elbow
  • Please ensure that there is sufficient fresh air and ventilation in inside spaces.

Mandatory face masks
It is mandatory to wear a face mask in all University and Hanzehogeschool buildings when moving through the building. You may remove your face mask when you are seated.

Outdoor
For outdoor sports, the rules regarding the QR code check do not apply for the time being. This means that the matches and trainings can take place in the regular way, of course respecting the basic rules.

Indoor sports
The decision of the RUG and the Hanze that this weekend in any case no QR code check needs to take place has been extended until Friday, the 12th of November, 6 PM. This gives the Sports Center and the ACLO time to properly set up the corona check. In the course of next week more information will follow on how the checks will take place.

Sportsbar
The same rules as for the clubhouses also apply to the Sportsbar. If they are unable to enforce the face mask requirement, they will switch to checking QR codes.

On the 12th of November, the situation will be reevaluated. So it remains to be seen if and when further measures will follow. We will keep you well informed and hope, of course, that student sport will survive. In part, we have an influence on this ourselves by collectively adhering to the measures in force.

Kind regards,
The 76th Executive Board of the ACLO & Management of the Sports center
