Pilates - José Dragtsma
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a training method that was developed in the early twentieth century by Joseph H. Pilates from Germany. With Pilates the emphasis is on strengthening your “core”, or your middle area (abdominal, back and pelvic floor muscles), which you can also see as an "internal corset". With various intensive floor exercises we focus on strength, flexibility, stability and breathing. About José With great pleasure I have been teaching Pilates classes since the summer of 2014 and also to the SPR for a number of years. I started with the basic Pilates teacher training and then followed a number of specializations, including Power Pilates, Pilates Bodyshape (working with materials) and Pilates Advanced. During the intensive and dynamic class, the focus is mainly on the execution of the exercises. I find it really important that these are done the correct way. I work with themes and in the classes we focus on special balance, stability and coordination exercises and there is extra attention for certain muscle groups. Finally, I think it is important that everyone is having fun and that in addition to the effort, they can also relax! Level: the classes are accessible for every level (beginner to advanced). Please report any injuries/particularities to me prior to the class so that I can take this into account. |
