Trainers
Renee de Ruijter
I have been teaching at SPR and students for a number of years now. In my younger years I played a lot of tennis. I started doing the ALO and then mainly gave tennis training. I combine teaching with 3 days of work at Sport & Bewegen, an MBO studie of the Alfa College. I also enjoy tennis, MTB and golf.
In my training sessions I try to offer as much technical and tactical aspects in rally forms as possible. We play a lot with all participants, and try to get as many strokes in as possible to get better together. Then we reapply what we have learned in competition form.
There is always time for a break if you want and if you want to single or double there is often room for this.
Joeke Buikema
Let me introduce myself: Hello, I'm Joeke Buikema, 40 years old and living in Groningen. I live together with my wife Hilde and our kids Thijs (10) and Bram (8). After completing the ALO I started teaching tennis at the sportcentrum. I have been teaching now for 13 years and still with great pleasure. I now also started teaching a few padel classes. Hobbies besides tennis and padel are skiing, football and mountain biking.
My tennis classes at SPR generally look like this: first of all, the groups are divided by level. Tennis is certainly not the easiest sport, so it takes quite a few classes to master the game. During the classes we try to go through all techniques and tactics. I often play the balls on a court to practice with everyone. You then try to put it into practice on the court next to it. During this training, I think it's important that we have a lot of fun. So I always hope that we learn something but also have space to relax. If we've had a nice hour with some sweaty foreheads, then it's all good!
See you on the track,
Greetings Joeke
