Price

The membership cost €10,- a month. The costs will be deducted from you bank account every 3 months.

Do I have to make reservations?

SPR hours
- For a couple of the SPR hours you have to make a reservation. If this is the case it will be pointed out in the schedule.
ACLO group classes and open hours
- For all ACLO classes you need to make a reservation in advance. Read here about how to make a reservation for group classes and open hours.
ACLO courses
- The courses of the ACLO start 8 times a year. As a SPR member je can sign up in the after registration, so only if there are spaces left. The after registration starts in the week before the new course period on Thursday 9.00 o'clock. After registration is possible until 16.00 o'clock before the day of the course. Here you can read everything about the ACLO courses.
Court, Field or room
- On hours that are not used by courses, group classes open hours ore the sports associations, it is possible to make a reservation for a court, field or room at the Sportcentrum. You can do this through the ACLO website.

Canceling your membership

You can cancel your membership by sending an email to [email protected]. Canceling your membership is only possible after one year and after this every 3 months. Canceling needs to be done Cancellation must be communicated at least 2 weeks before the end of the 1st year or quarter.

My contract is ending will my membership be cancelled automatically?

No, your contract with the RUG or Hanze is not connected to your membership with SPR. We are nog able to see if someone's contract ends. You will need to cancel your SPR membership by sending a email to [email protected].

As a retiree you can remain a member of the SPR and participate in sports. From the moment you retire, your login with P-number (RUG) or work email address (Hanze) will expire. We can change this to a login with a private email address. Therefore, please provide your private email address to [email protected] in a timely manner.

Which sports can I do?

As a SPR member you have unlimited acces to the SPR hours, ACLO groupclasses and open hours and ACLO courses
(based on after registration). You can make a reservation for a court, field of room and you have unlimited acces to the gym.

What do I take with me to play sports?

Every sport that the SPR offers has a separate page. On this page we describe what you have to take with you to play the sport. Always use sport clothes and the right shoes which you are not wearing outside. Always bring you phone to check in for the ACLO classes, courses, the gym and when you have made reservation for a court, field or room. This is also necessary for the SPR group classes that require a reservation.

On which location can I find the sports?

This is different for every sport en is described in the schedule with the sport. On the contact page you can find the addresses for the different locations.

Are there any houserules?

Playing sports is always at your own risc.
The SPR and the Sportcentrum are not responsible incase of theft or loss of any goods.

My partner is not a employee of the RUG or Hanze. Can he/she become a member?

Partners of RUG employees with an academic appointment, who moved less than one year ago in connection with their partner's new job, may become a member of SPR for a maximum of 1 year. Dual Career Support University of Groningen assesses whether you meet this criterion. When registering with the SPR, enter the P-number of your partner (who works at the RUG) and state that you are a 'partner' under 'remarks'. We will then contact Dual Career Support to see if we can accept your application.

Unfortunately we do not have a similar arrangement voor partners of Hanze employees. at the moment.
